Recently voted one of the best hostels in London by Hostel World, Hillspring Lodge collects awards for the quality of their service. Located in a residential neighbourhood, this hostel is part of a new hosting model “the boutique hostels”.

This place is ideal for those wishing to visit the city during the day and rest at night, the common areas make the vibe of the hostel a lively one, at night, the bar is the main meeting point, where besides the great music you can experience a Real Ale.

OK, but what is a boutique hostel? It is a new hospitality concept that brings a differentiated service for young audiences seeking new experiences, i.e.: bring some elements that until recently were unknown in hostels such as gourmet cuisine, music, bar, dance classes, besides providing greater comfort.

The hostel is on Willesden Lane, the nearest tube station is Willesden Green, on the Jubilee Line, which provides access to various city attractions such as Wembley Stadium.

The architecture of the houses in this neighbourhood feels like a movie set. Every night we arrived around 22h and it was super quiet to walk on these streets. On the way from the subway and the hostel there is a Pizza Hut and several grocery stores.

Organised in double, twin and dorms; the rooms are warm, great for cold weather we had. There are bathrooms in some of the rooms, but the shower is shared in an area zone for men and women, the use of the safe is free, linen and towels are new and comfortable, it makes all the difference at bedtime after a day walking the city. Bed linen is included in the daily rate.

The 24-hour reception, room keys are encoded with access by key-card, the bar is the meeting point of guests, where everyone exchange information and tips on what to see in the city, there is a reading room, a lift for disabled, public telephone, Xerox, souvenir shop, free internet, laundry, kitchen and a conference room, as well as sales of the city attractions such as concerts and theatre. The breakfast included in the rate and is served between 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM. The staff is very attentive and well explained about the city, getting around and attractions.
