Cheap Eats by Palmers Lodge II (Chain’s edition)

We all know that London has a reputation for being one of the most expensive places in the world to visit so naturally, visitors are often a bit wary about budgeting for their time in the capital.

So here’s where our staff at Palmers Lodge and Hillspring Lodge come handy; we not only give guests our insider tips for what to do in London while you stay with us, but we have compiled another list of our favourite food franchises -that won’t break the bank- so you can confidently improvise some your meals while you are out and about (most of them are strategically placed around the capital so you are bound to find one nearby while sightseeing) but you can also be pretty confident about the quality.

Italian: Carluccio’s (Hampstead) Flavourful ravioli and  decent Panettone for desert. Always busy. Speedy service.

Mexican: Wahaca (Soho) A variety of typical Mexican dishes, made with fresh ingredients, all locally sourced.

Kosher: Reuben’s (Marylebone) Good salt beef, one of the few Kosher deli’s in Central London. A little taste of NYC!

Barbecue: Bodean’s (Tower Hill) Tender meats, flavourful sauces, and well complemented with home-made coleslaw; a personal favourite of some of our American friends.

Scandinavian: Madsen (South Kensington) Just outside the South Ken tube station, stop here if you’re looking to try something delicious and outside your usual palate.

British: Bumbles (Buckingham Palace) Gloucester old spot sausages with mash and gravy fit for the Queen!

American: Christopher’s (Strand) If you’re looking for steak without breaking the budget, go to Christopher’s. Service is something to be desired, but the food is incredible.

Greek: Karavas (Euston) Friendly service with traditional Greek/Mediterranean cuisine. Try some of the appetizers, specifically the Loukanika.

French: Savoir Faire (Bloomsbury) The food is great (we recommend the salads) but the wine is better; great for a post-work meal.
