Celebrate New Year’s Eve in London

What better place to celebrate the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014 than in the heart of Central London. There’s so much to see and do, that there is something for everyone. From themed parties and the epic firework display from the London Eye, to special shows and the classic New Year’s Day parade. Here are some suggestions on how to start the New Year.


This epic firework display is rooted at London’s most iconic landmarks, the London Eye. With Big Bend, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the rest of the city in the background, you can see the show from many locations and bridges including Victoria Embankment, Waterloo, Westminster, and the Jubilee footbridge. You can also get a partial view from the Millennium Bridge. If you can’t make it out, the fireworks will be broadcasted on BBC1 live on the 31st of December. More information.

Including entry to four venues located within the Sky Bar, there is a party for everyone. For an extravagant New Years’ experience, grab a ticket for the Silver Sturgeon River Cruise on the Thames. Want to go back in time before the New Year? Take part in this vintage New Year’s party where there will be four floors of entertainment at the Southbank Centre. The Artist – Live Concert

If you’re looking for something more low-key this New Year’s take a visit to the theatre to see the award winning silent film “The Artist.” With audio performed by the London Symphony Orchestra led by Ludovic Bource and conducted by Ernst Van Tiel, there will be 4 screenings of Michel Hazanavicius’s blockbuster at the historic Royal Albert Hall. The events don’t stop on New Year’s Eve. Make sure to take the whole family to the classic New Year’s Parade. London’s parade features 10,000 performers representing all of the boroughs of London as well as countries from around the world all in one place. Dancers, acrobats, cheerleaders, musicians and performers guide the parade throughout the city from 12PM – 3:15 on the 1st of January. More information.
