One Direction comes back to London: this time to Wembley Stadium!
The English capital city it’s preparing itself for the approaching of the date of one of the biggest concerts of the year: “One Direction: Where We Are Tour”. The British-Irish band was born in the famous British TV Show “The X Factor” in 2010, during the bootcamp stage of the competition, and after that they only grow and kept growing.
The band comes back to London again after a very busy year of concerts. Last year they gave 131 concerts around the world during the tour “Take Me Home”, most of them in Europe and North America. On the 6th, 7th and 8th of June, they will delight their fans at the gigantic Wembley Stadium.
The young band is more than a fashion, it’s a phenomenon. In their last tour they sold the around 99% of the tickets in every big venue they’ve been. Places like the The O2 Arena in London (157,145 tickets sold), Foro Sol in Mexico City (107,317 tickets sold) or Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne (94,457 tickets sold) were almost full, and the earnings from only these 21 cities was about $52,582,225 (£31,596,659).
Also, they have a massive success in the social media terrain. The official Facebook page has almost 28M “likes”, and their Twitter account has more than 18M followers. They are at the same level of popularity as other superstars such as Rihanna, Shakira or Katy Perry, with millions and millions of fans as well.
