Who will win the FA Cup?
Arsenal or Wigan? Hull or Sheffield United? We won’t know until Sunday which teams are going to be the FA Cup finalists, but we can be sure that it’s going to be exiting!
The former winner, Wigan, it’s again classified to the semi-finals, but this time against Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s team started the season with a lot of good results, but now they need to prove that they are the favourites for the trophy. They won their last FA Cup in 2005, against Manchester United, in the Millennium Stadium (Cardiff, Wales).
Wigan Athletic, relegated last year to the second division, wants desperately to play one more time the FA Cup Final. The Uwe Rosler’s team has a place in the promotion to the Premier League for next year, and they want to end the season in the best way possible.
Taking a look at the other two teams, Hull City has the chance of playing a FA Cup Final for the first time in almost 110 years of history. The match against Sheffield United is the opportunity to reach the Final, in addition to the fact that they have 5 more games to ensure their stay in the Premier League for next year.
Playing in the Sky Bet League 1, Sheffield United seems to be the weakest team of the Semi-finals. But you can never be too sure. They only need one more step to play the final, and they’re ready to do it. The team is not having the same success in the regular competition, but they want have the best season ending possible: winning a trophy! The last final that they played in this competition was in 1936 against Arsenal (would it be possible that they have a rematch after almost 80 years?!), and the last FA Cup that they’ve won was eleven years before, in 1925 against Cardiff City.
This weekend we’ll know the finalists, after these two matches in Wembley Stadium. And we have to wait until the 17th May to know which team is going to be the winner!
